I am a co-signer on my partner's leased vehicle I am considering declaring bankruptcy . She has never missed a payment and generally has decent credit. Will my declaring personal bankruptcy put her lease in jeopardy?

Hi, couple of months ago I sold my vehicle to a family member. I'm filling bankruptcy and was wondering if anybody can take that sold vehicle back from the new owner.

If there is money in a trust account at Tarion Home Warranty in my name and I declare personal bankruptcy, will that money be lost once it is released or will it be mine? If I declare personal bankruptcy in Ontario now, the money will be released sometime early next year - does timing mean anything? I really don't want to lose the money - should I wait to next year and have the money before bankruptcy? Please help, no one seems to know this answer.

I know that if I file for bankruptcy before I receive my tax refund, that money will be taken by the trustee. What happens if I get the tax refund and then file for bankruptcy shortly after that point? Will they still take the money? How much am I allowed to keep?

If someone has already filed bankrupty and is not yet discharged and they sell their house but do not close until after they are released from their bankruptcy do they have to pay anything to the trustee?

I owe the phone company money on an old account. They have recently disconnected my husband's phone. He went to pay his phone bill and get it reconnected, they refuse until my bill is paid. He has informed them that I am going bankrupt, they said that they still will not turn his phone back on until he pay's my bill. Can they still do that after i have claimed bankruptcy?

I borrowed money from my sister last year to buy a car. I still owe her $6000 for the car but I have to declare bankruptcy. I want her to keep the car in exchange for what I owe her on it. Can I do this? (The car is worth more than $5650). She wrote a cheque for the car; does that constitute a security agreement?
