I am on Employment Insurance (Parental benefit)until March 2007. I did not declare bankruptcy yet. What are the possibilities of my creditors getting access to my EI payments?

It is virtually impossible for a creditor, such as a credit card, to garnishee your E.I. payments. If you owe money to the government, it is relatively easy for them to take a portion of your E.I. payments.

However, once the payment is deposited into your bank account, any creditor with access to your bank account could attempt to get the money.
