Can a credit agency find me?

Monday, July 31st, 2006

I have an outstanding student loan debt. Can a credit agency find me if I moved? Can they find out where I work? They are saying if I don’t respond to the letter, they are going to send it to the ministry of government services. Can the ministry find out where I work?

What to do after a consumer proposal

Tuesday, July 25th, 2006

I just successfully completed a 5 year consumer proposal and find myself in no better position than when I filed. The collection agency is after me for my Canada Student Loans. I was told by my creditor upon completing the consumer proposal that considering my student loan debt is 10 years old now I could apply to the court to have the debt expunged. The collection agency is now telling me that I don’t qualify for such a break. Who is telling me the truth?

Filing for bankruptcy

Tuesday, July 11th, 2006

I have a large credit card debt and I don’t have a job. I’ve been paying one credit card with another. Now there isn’t any money left on each card to pay one with another anymore. I do have some money saved up that I recieved for my child support payments that was suppose to be for my childrens education for college. The money saved is just in a regular savings account.
I am about to use this money to pay these credit cards for my monthly payments, and to purchase back to school clothing for my 2 children as well as groceries, but this will only last for the next three months.
I was told by another trustee that I’m not suppose to use the money to pay my monthly payments to the credit cards or to use any of this money to for my children clothes and groceries and that my best choice would be to give them the money to disburse to the three credit card companies that I owe OR just not to pay the credit cards and to let the collection agency call me for the money she said legally they couldn’t do anything to me because I don’t have a job, but what about after that when I do get a job won’t they come aftter me and wouldn’t interest have accumulated to a larger sum by then? Am I allowed to use my money to support my children and pay my regular monthly bills until the money runs out? Can I still file for bankruptcy after the money is gone?

2 bankruptcies; 1 discharged; 1 unresolved.

Saturday, July 8th, 2006

I have 2 bankruptcies on my record; 1 discharged and 1 unresolved. I was unable to fulfill any of the obligations I was supposed to for the 2nd and I haven’t made any payments so far to my trustee. It has been nearly 4 years since I’ve made contact with the trustee. I have been very sick for a long time and dealing with financial issues was the last thing on my mind. I’m started to reintegrate into society and will be trying to work again soon. I receive financial assistance from a governement agency and am considering getting a part-time job. What should I do? Should I contact the trustee? Will this eventually fall off my credit bureau? 14 yrs. Please help me?

Thank you so much.

What if a creditor is missed in my bankruptcy?

Wednesday, July 5th, 2006

I declared a 2nd bankruptcy in 2003, ws discharged in 2004, but i am now looking at a copy of my credit report and there are 2 creditors that I have no recollection of what so ever, though i am having them looked into by Equifax and TransUnion, what happens if it is discovered that they were missed in my bankruptcy? Would a credit report not have been run at the time of my filing?
